Xi Kappa Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha to Host Scholarship Gala

For over 20 years, the fraternity and the Educational Foundation have awarded scholarships to over 60 high school graduates from Madison, Sterling, Jones, Willowridge, and Thurgood Marshall. These scholarships help support deserving young men and women realize their personal and academic potential as they prepare for service to our community and the world.
The Renaissance on the Bayou event this year will be highlighted by the organization’s partnership with the Honorary Co-chairs, Mr. Ron Reynolds and his wife, Dr. Jonita Reynolds. The dynamic couple has a rich history of service and distinction in the Greater Metropolitan Houston-Missouri City area and has actively supported this fundraising effort.
Mr. Reynolds serves as President of the Missouri City & Vicinity Branch of the NAACP and is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Dr. Jonita Reynolds is an accomplished educator and has served as the CEO of the Gulf Coast Community Services Association. She is also a member Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
Renaissance on the Bayou will offer live musical performances, dancing, raffles, vendors, casino play, and food, all while providing a venue to raise funds to support scholarships and community-based programming. The event will be held at the Stafford Centre, located at 10505 Cash Road, Stafford, Texas on Saturday, July 11, 2009 from 8:00 PM. to 1:00 AM. Tickets to the event are $50 per person.
