This Week’s Attack Dawg Bite Award Goes To Bob McDonnell

Wow, you Virginians got a new Governor who makes politicians like David Duke look like a soft, sweet, little cracker! Bob’s infamous “Confederate Soldiers History Month” bill, along with his essay supporting ex-con suffrage lets us know he took the words “The South Will Rise Again” as his own Mission Statement. With his divisive agenda, I can’t help but wonder how prominent Black supporters, like former Virginia Governor Douglas Wilder and BET’s Sheila Johnson, like him now. The reason “Red Neck Bob” wins this week’s most un-coveted award is for his attempt to omit any recognition of the institution of slavery in the bill. Bob claimed that The Civil War was about “these men fighting to maintain their freedom and businesses- not slavery.” Duh, Bob! Every antebellum Southern slave-holder exploited slaves as their primary means of labor. Your so-called “write-an-essay-so-you-can-vote” for ex-felons smacks of the old Jim Crow literacy tests. You, again, tried to dupe your Black citizens into believing that that would “streamline the process and make it easier for ex-prisoners to become eligible voters.” Really? Tell your story walkin’, pal! Bob, you are one of the Conservatives' fair-haired-boys, poised to run for the presidency in 2012. At the rate you’re going, which presidency will that be? The United States or the Confederacy?
