Houston Mayor Annise Parker  presented an official proclamation to five-time Olympic medalist and Spring resident Chad Hedrick, who distinguished himself recently at the XXI Winter Olympics in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, winning a bronze medal in the 1000m speed skating event and a silver medal in the Team Pursuit event.

The highly decorated athlete is a speed skater in both ice speed skating and inline speed skating, winning one gold, two silver and two bronze Olympic medals. Hedrick has set six world records in his racing career.
