Do you crave the sweet taste of a delectable dessert?While not everyone can be the “Cake Boss” Buddy Valastro, you can get a few steps closer to learning how to create your own masterpiece by learning from the talented H-E-B cake decorators. Come join H-E-B as they roll up their sleeves for the third annual H-E-B Houston Region Cake-Off, a fun cake decorating contest and event. More than 20 teams, each comprised of two H-E-B Partners (employees) from H-E-B stores in greater Houston, will compete to see who has the best cake decorating skills. Each team will have three hours to decorate and display their creations. After the competition, a silent auction will be held to auction off all of the confectionary creations, with proceeds benefiting the Adult Reading Center. Houston area celebrity judges will join forces to pick the best of the best in cake creations.  Celebrity judges include H-E-B Houston President Scott McClelland and Top Chef Just Desserts contestant and Pastry Chef/Owner of Fluff Bake Bar Rebecca Masson. Affectionately known in Houston as “The Sugar Hooker,” when it comes to confectionary creations Rebecca takes the cake, named Best Pastry Chef by Houston’s My Table Magazine and awarded Best Ice Cream by H Texas magazine. The takeaway for the H-E-B Cake-Off grand prize winner? $500 in H-E-B gift cards and earning the coveted title of “H-E-B Cake Boss.” Second place takes home $300 in gift cards and the third place winner will receive $200 in gift cards.
