On Thursday, April 25, J.J. Watt – defensive end for the Houston Texans and NFL Defensive Player of the Year – will visit KIPP Spirit and KIPP Liberation Schools on behalf of the J.J. Watt Foundation. The J.J. Watt Foundation donated $60,000 to the KIPP Schools for athletic equipment. The school visit will include remarks by J.J. Watt at an all-school assembly. The donation will help further the mission of the Justin J. Watt Foundation to provide after-school opportunities for children in the community to become involved in athletics, so that they may learn the basic character traits of accountability, teamwork, leadership, work ethic and perseverance while in a safe and supervised environment with their peers.
