Pastor Keion Henderson of Houston’s Light-House Church to Feature on Internationally-Broadcast Television Special December 1st

[Houston, November 25, 2014] The charismatic and inspiring leader of Houston’s Light-House Church is taking his message of empowerment via the Gospel to an international audience. On December 1, 2014, Pastor Keion Henderson will join a panel of pastors and inspirational speakers for The WORD Network’s “Empowerment Encounter” special. The special starts at 8PM EST, and features, in addition to Pastor Henderson, notable speakers like Dr. Jamal Bryant and Pastor Doriane Parker-Simms.

Pastor Henderson’s Light-House Church is one of the fastest growing congregations in Houston, going from less than 200 members to over 3500 in less than four years. The congregation has spearheaded a number of community missions in the Houston area, including the Easter Expo event for children and the “Feeding the Soul” anti-hunger campaign for the 2014 Christmas season. Under the leadership of Pastor Henderson, the congregation birthed a new 65,000 square foot worship facility that opened in 2014.
Based in Southfield, Michigan, The WORD Network is the largest African-American religious network in the world. It has broadcast coverage in over 200 countries worldwide, millions of viewers, including 86 million homes in the United States. Through multi-platform broadcasting, the channel reaches viewers via terrestrial cable and satellite providers, the US Armed Forces network, in-flight services on select carrier partner airlines, and via the Internet through its streaming service.
Pastor Keion Henderson graduated from IPFW in 2004 with a degree in Organizational Communication and a minor in Organizational Leadership and Supervision (OLS). In college, God moved Pastor Henderson from playing sports to promoting social empathy and religious growth as a profession. Pastor Henderson has since organized The Light-House Church, one of the fastest growing churches in Texas. Pastor Henderson preaches from a progressive point of view, and his deep-seated, personal involvement in community service has led him to organize Houston’s largest free Easter Expo and conduct a red carpet walk for his congregation and the press at the Texas opening of “The Son of God” movie, among other events. 2014 found Pastor Henderson publishing his first book, “The Christ Compass,” and sustaining his congregation’s growth with a new 65,000 square foot building. Pastor Keion’s work has been recognized nationally, earning him a 2014 CNN Heroes award nomination, and the 2014 Pastor of Excellence award.
