Michael Jordan can officially call himself ‘Money’ for real now. The 51-year-old owner of the Charlotte Hornets walked right past the bank of “Triple Digit Millionaires” and into the famed BBC after raising his stakes in the franchise.
The Hornets are worth somewhere near $600 to $625 million, $75 million more than the recently sold Milwaukee Bucks, which after making waves for being the highest dollar amount purchase for a franchise in NBA history until the Clippers deal is still the least valued NBA franchise amongst the 30 teams.
Jordan banks $90 million alone in endorsement deals and his longstanding relationship with Nike and Jordan Brand. Before raising his stakes within the Hornets whom he bought from former owner Robert Johnson in 2010, he was valued at $750 million.
