What: Children of all ages are invited to enjoy a day of fun and exciting activities at the Houston Public Library for the 5th Annual Books Alive! Children’s Book Celebration. A full day of exciting performances and hands-on arts and crafts activities, featuring a special appearance and book signing by award-winning children’s book author Jennifer Holm, best known for her Babymouse graphic novel series. The Children’s Book Celebration will also have a special performance by Main Street Theater who will present their original production, “Babymouse, the Musical.” The Children’s Book Celebration is free and open to the public. Main Street Theater will present their original production, “Babymouse, the Musical,” followed immediately by a presentation and book signing with Jennifer L. Holm, the “New York Times” bestselling children’s author and the recipient of three Newbery Honors.

1:30 PM – 4:30 PM | 1st Floor Gallery and Concourse Meeting Room

Fun throughout the day with Anchor Entertainment’s Mobile Flipbook Studio, Balloon Art, Crafts, Popcorn Buffet, Houston Museum of Natural Science’s Discovery Dome, Mad Science of Houston, and CJH BakeLab.

About Author Jennifer Holm

Holm’s is a “New York Times” bestselling children's author and the recipient of three Newbery Honors for her novels “Our Only May Amelia,” “Penny from Heaven,” and “Turtle in Paradise.” Jennifer collaborates with her brother, Matthew Holm, on two graphic novel series -- the popular Babymouse series and the bestselling Squish series.
