NASCAR Drive for Diversity graduate to race in DAV200 Saturday

NASCAR K&N Pro Series East driver and Drive for Diversity graduate Mackena Bell will make her NASCAR Nationwide debut with Rick Ware Racing No. 23 Chevrolet Camaro this Saturday at Phoenix International Raceway for the DAV200 “Honoring American’s Veterans” race.

“I’m going to enjoy this opportunity and learn as much as possible,” said Bell. “This series is very competitive and there are a lot of teams with huge sponsors and great backing. Running for a little team gives you the chance to just take it all in, experience the differences and not feel the pressure, or expectation of setting the world on fire. I’m really looking forward to it.”

The 24-year old enters Saturday’s race with nothing to prove and the hope that the opportunity opens many other doors for her career. Bell finished sixteenth in the 2014 NASCAR K&N Pro Series East standings with one top-10 finish in 16 starts.

The race is Saturday, Nov. 8, at 4 p.m. ETon ESPN.
