EVENT: Lunada 2014: FREE Concert celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
WHEN: Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 7:30 PM
WHERE: Miller Outdoor Theatre, 6000 Hermann Park Dr, Houston, TX
The Mexican Institute of Greater Houston’s Lunada, proudly celebrating its 10th year anniversary, is a night under the full moon. This annual cultural event is reminiscent of those held in small towns and pueblos in Mexico, where community members come together to share music, poetry and stories.
Join the Houston Symphony, led by guest conductor, Alejandro Gutiérrez for an exciting evening that features the rich musical heritage of Latin America and Spain including works by Arturo Márquez, Manuel de Falla, José Pablo Moncayo and Silvestre Revueltas. Dancers from Luna Tango Productions join the Houston Symphony on Astor Piazzolla's evocative melody Oblivion.
This is a ticketed event for the covered seating area. Free tickets are available (4 per person over age 16 while they last) at the Miller Outdoor Theatre box office the day of the performance, between the hours of 10:30am-1pm. If tickets remain at 1pm, the box office will re-open one hour before show time to distribute the remaining tickets. As always, open seating on the hill.
