Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc. State Convention

LAKE CHARLES, LA. (April 6, 2015)—The Louisiana Garden Club Federation, Inc. (LGCF) will hold its state convention on April 21-23 at Isle of Capri Casino Hotel, 100 Westlake Avenue in Westlake.
The convention theme is “Cajun Country Joie de Vivre” and will bring more than 100 garden club members from across the state to Southwest Louisiana.
A pre-conference tour is scheduled for April 21, which includes a trip to Shangri La Botanical Gardens and Nature Center in Orange, TX and Henning Cultural Center in Sulphur, LA.
The conference will open on April 22 with business and committee meetings. Anne Klenke, Creole Nature Trail/Adventure tourism director of the Southwest Louisiana Convention and Visitors’ Bureau, will present “Louisiana’s Outback,” about the Creole Nature Trail All-American Road;180 miles of flora, fauna and alligators.
Additional conference activities include “The Magic of Cooking and Garnishing with Edible Flowers” by Trixie Bond of Houston, TX , a banquet, as well as floral and landscape design programs. Vendors will also be present.

The Louisiana Garden Club Federation is comprised of 96 garden clubs with almost 3,000 members.
