August 19, 2015 – (HOUSTON, TX) – The Houston Black American Democrats [HBAD] announced their support for Houston Community College Trustee Chris Oliver in his race for Houston City Council, At-Large Position 1 on Tuesday.
The endorsement comes as a testament not only to Chris’ over twenty years of service to the community as HCC Trustee for District IX, but also because of his unique understanding of the demands of elected office and his ability to get to work for the citizens of Houston on day one.
“This endorsement means a lot to me,” said Oliver. “I’ve worked hard to help our community during my time as HCC Trustee for District IX and am excited to continue that work for all Houstonians as At-Large Council Member for Position 1. I look forward to engaging and working with [HBAD] in the final months of this campaign, and at City Hall come 2016.”
