HOUSTON (January 5, 2015) - The Third Annual Blue Plate Special benefiting The Thread Alliance is currently recruiting restaurants for participation in the April 2015 citywide child abuse prevention campaign.

Restaurants can register for participation by visiting: http://www.thethreadalliance.org/wp-content/uploads/BPS_Restaurant_Form_2015.pdf.

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month and in April 2015, The Thread Alliance will host the Blue Plate Special, its third annual citywide child abuse prevention awareness campaign encouraging Houstonians to take action against child abuse and towards healing.

The Thread Alliance is a Houston non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to ending the cycle of child abuse. It's mission is to bring child abuse awareness to the forefront and provide a central registry of local, state, and national resources for those seeking child abuse prevention, intervention, or treatment information and services. By increasing awareness and volunteerism through individual and community participation, The Thread Alliance strives to protect every child from cruelty and neglect and make child abuse a thing of the past.

In an effort to spread awareness and education, potential restaurants can support the campaign by offering a "Blue Plate Special" to their guests during the month of April 2015 and donating a percentage of the special menu item to The Thread Alliance. Each participating restaurant will determine the dish and percentage amount of each "Blue Plate Special" to donate. In return, The Thread Alliance will assist with marketing materials and feature each restaurant in press releases, online promotions, direct mail, email blasts, social media, advertising, and The Thread Alliance's Blue Plate Special webpage.

Proceeds from The Blue Plate Special will help The Thread Alliance in the effort to ending the cycle of child abuse. For more information on The Thread Alliance, visit www.thethreadalliance.org and like us on Facebook.

About The Thread Alliance

The Thread Alliance, a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization founded by Sheila Aron, is dedicated to ending the cycle of child abuse. The non-profit's mission is to bring child abuse awareness to the forefront and provide a central registry of local, state, and national resources for those seeking child abuse prevention, intervention, or treatment information and services. By increasing awareness and volunteerism through individual and community participation, The Thread Alliance strives to protect every child from cruelty and neglect and make child abuse a thing of the past.

The Blue Plate Special is The Thread Alliance's citywide public awareness and education campaign encouraging Houstonians to take action against child abuse and toward healing. Local restaurants support the cause by offering a "blue plate special" during the month of April, Child Abuse Prevention Month, and donating a percentage of the proceeds to The Thread Alliance.

Sheila Aron is also the author of I'm Glad I'm Me, Weaving the Thread of Love From Generation to Generation. The book is written with the conviction that how messages of love are communicated between parents and children can positively shape a child's personality, self-esteem, and - in later years - their approach to their own children.
