Houston, TX – Built on the pillars of youth leadership development and philanthropic giving; the 240 chapters of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. are making major strides in helping children understand the importance of service to their communities across the U.S. The North Houston Suburban (NHS) Chapter of Jack & Jill of America, Inc. is no exception to this strong tradition as its 2015 Gala will benefit the Jack and Jill of America Foundation and BEAR...Be A Resource for CPS Kids, a 501(c)3 partnership that provides emergency goods and services for children under the care of Child Protective Services. In recognition of outstanding service to underprivileged children, the NHS Chapter felt it was only fitting that this year’s gala honorees include Emmy-nominated actress Victoria Rowell, who herself was raised in foster care, Astros Foundation Executive Director Twila Carter and Texas State Representative, e Honorable Sylvester Turner. All have a strong record of advocacy on behalf of the needs of children. NHS President Carmen Wright stated that “the best way to teach our children about service to the community is by modeling that service in our lives”.

This is year’s gala promises to be a star-studded success, while bringing awareness and support to both of these wonderful organizations. Acclaimed concert pianist Jade Simmons will perform at this year’s event and KHOU-Channel 11 News Anchors Ron Trevino and Sherry Williams will serve as Masters of Ceremony.

The 2015 Champions for Children Gala will be held on Saturday, July 11, 2015, 6:30 p.m. at Minute Maid Park in the grand Union Station Lobby.
