Houston, TX (October 21, 2015) – There are only 12 days left to apply for Houston Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center’s Second Chance program. Dr. Donald Cohen and Dr. Chris Dauterive, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and Dr. Sergio Ortegon, Prosthodontist, are excited to help one person in Greater Houston by giving them a complete smile makeover to restore not only their oral health, but to enhance their quality of life.

Much of the community has shown their support on the practice’s social media pages. On Facebook, the response is incredible. On one post alone, 84,105 people were reached, resulting in 693 total shares, 299 likes, and 48 comments. People are sharing their feelings about what the program means to them and are discussing their stories about domestic violence, genetic conditions, job struggles, and extreme self-esteem problems, all resulting in their poor oral health.

“The Houston area has been great to me over the last three-plus decades. I feel blessed to be practicing here, and we want to do something to give back to a person in our community,” said Dr. Cohen. “Giving a smile back to someone so deserving will be such a rewarding experience.”

The Second Chance program, launched October 2, 2015, is accepting applicants over a 30-day period. By using a procedure known as the All-On-4â treatment concept, the patient will receive a restoration of their entire arches of teeth with dental implants that affix to a custom-made prosthesis which retains a natural look and feel. The aesthetically pleasing implants make daily functions, such as eating, essentially effortless.

Interested applicants can visit Houston Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center’s Second Chance website (http://secondchancehouston.com/) to learn more about the program and submit their online application. The application period is extended to residents in Houston, TX, and the surrounding areas and runs from October 2, 2015, through November 1, 2015.

In addition to restoring oral function, a natural smile, and lifted self-esteem, the Second Chance Program aims to improve the recipient’s overall quality of life by addressing other specific needs necessary to the patient, such as smoking cessation, physical fitness, and career counseling. Community members interested in becoming a partner in the program are encouraged to contact Houston Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center.
