University of Houston football player D’aundra Trenard Holmes-Wilfork was charged with possession of a controlled substance on December 21st in Galveston County. The son of Houston Texans player Vince Wilfork told police the backpack found with marijuana and a cough syrup-based drug was his. Upon the University of Houston officials learning of the charges against Holmes-Wilfork, they dismissed him from the UH football program. Bail for Holmes-Wilfork was set at $10,000.
