Madera, California: The Madera Vintners Association will host its 9th annual "California Wine Month Celebration" on September 16th honoring California Wine Month which is the month of September. California Wine Month, proclaimed by Governor Jerry Brown, celebrates all that California vintners and growers bring to our lifestyle, economy and culinary pleasures. On September 16, local wineries, restaurants and caterers will join to pour wines complemented by delicious and diverse foods. Live music will be performed by Jazz Xperiment. Wineries and vintners will be available to discuss the wines and techniques used in local winegrowing and winemaking. Proceeds from the California Wine Month Celebration benefit the Association's Student Grant Program open to Fresno State students pursuing degrees in Viticulture or Enology.
On this special evening, the Madera Vintners Association will proudly be honoring Laurie and Loren Freeman of Laurie's Vineyard, a Madera winegrower, with a Person of the Year award for their contribution of premium quality grapes serving the local wine industry and local wineries. The Association will also be recognizing two Honorable Partners, Golden Eagle Charter and All Ag., Incorporated showing appreciation for both organizations' long-standing partnerships and support of the Madera Vintners Association and local wineries.
Guests can enjoy the wine and food exhibitors at the beautiful and scenic Fäsi Estate Winery, where the Central Valley meets the Madera County foothills. Fäsi Estate Winery is an organically certified vineyard of 42 acres that is known for award winning Syrah wines, produced locally.
"Madera County has such a richness of agriculture and it produces award winning wines. It is a delight that our local winegrowers will celebrate California Wine Month and recognize their own achievements in the wine industry", said Therese Williams Director of Public Relations for Visit Yosemite Madera Country. "Madera Country and Madera Vintners Association values education and the proceeds from the California Wine Month Celebration benefit the Association's Student Grant Program open to Fresno State students pursuing degrees in Viticulture or Enology".
