Rep. Ron Reynolds on Charter School Day

Reynolds on Track

There are less than 30 days left in this 85th legislative session. As we head down the home stretch, I remain focused and committed to passing bills that support the priorities that majority of Texans care about: education, economic empowerment & development, healthcare, and criminal justice reform to name a few. I am also committed to helping kill bad bills that are divisive and not in the best interest of helping Texans. I urge you to stay engaged with me as we follow the progression of bills in their last stages.

Charter Schools Advocacy Day

Special thanks to the many students, parents, teachers, and staff who were present at their Texas State Capitol to advocate on behalf their public charter school systems. I had the privilege to speak to advocates of KIPP Houston Public Schools who stopped by my Capitol office to discuss their legislative priorities and ensure that I support public charter schools. Following that discussion, I met with public charter students and parents of Southwest Preparatory School. I was asked again whether I support charter school systems and I responded with a definite yes. Education in any form is critical for our young Texans. Future leaders deserve quality education regardless of the school system they attend. I vow to continue to fight in favor of public education and our Texas youth!

Capitol Office Visitors

TSU President & Leadership

I had a very productive meeting with the Texas Southern University President, Dr. Austin Lane, in my Capitol office. We are making sure that TSU has adequate funding from the state for its operations. As a proud alum of TSU I will continue to fight for my alma mater.

Jeffrey Boney

I enjoyed visiting with my constituent and friend Jeffrey L. Boney today in my Capitol office about local Missouri City, Texas legislative concerns. We were joined by Justin R. Jordan.

Richard Morrison

I enjoyed visiting with my friend and former commissioner, Richard Morrison in my Capitol office regarding mental health treatment and healthcare legislation. I look forward to working with Richard to pass some important pending bills to improve mental health treatment in Texas!
