Astros Baseball Returns to Minute Maid Park for Home Opener on Monday, April 2

HOUSTON, TX-- The Houston Astros return home to Minute Maid Park for the sold-out 2018 Home Opener on Monday, April 2 as they take on the Baltimore Orioles at 6:10 p.m. CT, broadcast nationally on ESPN, locally on AT&T SportsNet and on the Astros flagship radio stations SportsTalk 790 KBME and La Ranchera 850 AM/101.7 FM.

Single game tickets, season tickets, group tickets and suite rentals, which provide fans with the best value for the biggest games, are available now and selling out quickly, so fans are encouraged to purchase early. Tickets can be purchased online at www.astros.com/tickets or by phone, toll free, at 1-877-9ASTROS (1-877-927-8767).

As a reminder regarding tickets, all fans must either have their printed tickets in hand or utilize the MLB Ballpark App on their mobile devices to access Minute Maid Park and any Astros Street Fests. PDFs, screenshots or any photos of tickets on a mobile device will NOT be accepted, and the Astros will not be able to print tickets on-site. As part of the Astros’ ongoing commitment to the safety of all fans, there is no re-entry into the ballpark once fans are scanned in, a policy consistent with the Astros postseason game day protocol as well as with other sports and entertainment venues around the country.

Limited parking for fans is available in Astros-secured lots A and B, with ample parking available in Astros-secured Lot C on game days. Fans are encouraged to arrive early in order to park in Astros-secured lots near the ballpark. Please note, these are cash-only lots.

Monday, April 2 vs. Baltimore Orioles - 6:10 p.m.

Astros fans, let’s Orange Out Minute Maid Park for Opening Day! The Astros will celebrate the 2018 Home Opener on Monday, April 2 with the return of the Opening Day Street Fest, presented by Budweiser, featuring live music, food trucks, games and access to the center field area and Saint Arnold Bar from 1:00 - 5:30 p.m. A game ticket is required for entry to the Opening Day Street Fest.

Gates will open at 3:00 p.m. on April 2 for all ticketed fans. Additionally, all fans will receive a 2018 Schedule Magnet giveaway presented by United Airlines as they enter the ballpark.

Following the street fest, fans are encouraged to take their seats for the Opening Day pregame ceremonies, which will feature the Commissioner’s Trophy presented by Astros Owner and Chairman Jim Crane and the Budweiser Clydesdales as well as the unveiling of the Astros 2017 World Championship Pennant. Astros Season Ticket Holders and winners of an Astros social media contest will present a giant American flag, while members of the Astros front office and their families present a 2017 World Championship Banner, covering the infield. Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow will address the home crowd during the pregame ceremony, which will also feature a flyover by the US Navy Training Air Wing 2 from the Naval Air Base in Kingsville, TX, weather permitting. Country music legend Clay Walker will return to perform the National Anthem and Astros former First Base Coach Rich Dauer will throw the ceremonial first pitch. The Astros will wear gold-accented jerseys and hats as reigning World Series Champions for the first two games of the Opening Series vs. the Orioles.

Tuesday, April 3 vs. Baltimore Orioles - 7:10 p.m.

Prior to Wednesday’s 7:10 p.m. CT matchup vs. the Orioles, members of the Astros 2017 World Championship team will receive their Championship Rings during a special pregame ceremony presented by Jostens. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred, Astros Owner and Chairman Jim Crane, Astros GM Jeff Luhnow and Astros President of Business Operations Reid Ryan will be on-hand to present each player with his Championship Ring. Additionally, more than 30 winners of a special Astros social media contest will present the 2017 Astros Championship Banner on the field during the pregame ceremony.

Former Astros outfielder Carlos Beltrán will return to receive his 2017 World Championship Ring and throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to Tuesday’s contest.

Tuesday is also the first $1 Hot Dog Night presented by Nolan Ryan Beef of the season! Fans can purchase an unlimited number of Nolan Ryan Beef hot dogs at $1 each while supplies last (limit of four per person per concession visit).

Wednesday, April 4 vs. Baltimore Orioles - 1:10 p.m.

The Astros wrap up their Opening Series vs. the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday in what will be the first home day game of the season.

Friday, April 6 vs. San Diego Padres - 7:10 p.m.

Astros Championship Weekend presented by Coca-Cola kicks off on Friday with a Replica World Series Trophy giveaway for 10,000 fans before the Astros take on the San Diego Padres at 7:10 p.m. CT. Fans are encouraged to arrive at the ballpark early to receive any promotional giveaways, as supplies are limited and not guaranteed. However, fans will not be allowed to line up for giveaways prior to 8:00 a.m. on any giveaway day this season.

During a special pregame ceremony, several Astros players will be recognized for the awards they earned in 2017. Jose Altuve will be honored for his American League MVP and Silver Slugger awards, George Springer will be honored for his World Series MVP and Silver Slugger awards, and Justin Verlander will be honored for his AL Championship Series MVP award. All three players will receive their very own Opie Otterstadt paintings recognizing and celebrating their accomplishments.

Big and Bright Friday Nights return to Minute Maid Park this Friday with a special Pregame Happy Hour presented by Budweiser at the Budweiser Brew House, where fans can enjoy $6, 16oz Budweiser Signature Draft beer and food specials, a live DJ, corn hole, jenga, and more from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. before every Friday night home game.

Upon conclusion of Friday’s game and prior to the start of Friday Night Fireworks, fans will be asked to move from the following sections for their safety and enjoyment: Home Run Alley, Escalator Tower Stairs in Center Field, Budweiser Brew House Tiers, Budweiser Batter’s Eye Bar, Torchy’s Deck, Crawford Boxes and sections 100-109, 205-208, 305-309, and 405-409.

Saturday, April 7 vs. San Diego Padres - 6:10 p.m.

Astros Championship Weekend presented by Coca-Cola continues on Saturday with a Replica World Champions Ring giveaway for 10,000 fans before the 6:10 p.m. contest. As previously stated, fans will not be allowed to line up for giveaways prior to 8:00 a.m.

Fans are invited to stick around after the game on Saturday for the first Astros After Party presented by Budweiser of the season, located in the Budweiser Brew House in Center Field. The Astros After Party will begin in the 8th inning and go until one hour after the final out. Sunday, April 8 vs. San Diego Padres - 1:10 p.m.

The Astros are calling all yogis to participate in the first Astros Yoga Day presented by Houston Methodist! Ticketed fans will enjoy a professionally-instructed yoga practice on the outfield grass at Minute Maid Park following the 1:10 p.m. matchup between the Astros and the Padres, and will also take home an Astros yoga mat.
