This summer, hundreds of current and former NFL players and coaches will host youth summer camps and activities for kids throughout the country. In addition to these camps, the NFL is encouraging NFL teams and partners to host events -- each with the goal of providing opportunities for kids to "Play Football" throughout the year.

Camps and activities will focus on teaching young athletes across the country proper technique spanning various skill levels, and will emphasize the importance of teamwork, sportsmanship, and the positive values associated with the game of football. Activities will be open to boys and girls ages 5-18.

The NFL Foundation's Youth Football Camp Grant Program recognizes NFL players, Legends and coaches who give back to communities in their hometowns or club markets and offer young athletes the opportunity to play in an inspiring and fun environment. The NFL Foundation has awarded more than $7 million in grants to support free, non-contact youth football camps hosted by current and former players and coaches since 1998.

Families interested in registering early can view a list of confirmed Summer activities on PlayFootball.com starting in April 2018.

"These summer camps create more opportunities for children to play the game of football and hone their skills, all while developing their leadership, self-discipline and teamwork attributes," according to NATARA HOLLOWAY, Vice President of NFL Youth & High School Football. "This summer, thousands of children will learn the fundamentals of football from current and former NFL players and coaches, who endeavor to be outstanding role models for these young individuals both on and off the field."

On Monday, March 26, the NFL will host a camp to kick off signups for the Play Football Summer Season during its Annual Meeting in Orlando, Florida. More than hundred middle and high school students will participate in a day-long Play Football Summer Season camp, where they will participate in non-contact skill development drills. NFL Legend, WILLIE MCGINEST will host the camp, alongside current and former NFL players, including; STEFON DIGGS, DEMETRIC EVANS, LEVON KIRKLAND MIKE MARTIN, JORDAN PALMER, DONALD PENN, MARVIN POLLARD, CROY PROCTOR, MIKE ROBINSON and DEMARCUS WARE.

"I'm honored to teach these young kids lessons about teamwork, discipline and accountability through playing football," said Willie McGinest. "I am truly inspired by these young individuals and know that the Summer Season is the opportunity for these kids to be a part of something bigger than football."
