The Houston edition of Taste America will take place Nov. 12 at 6 p.m. at Thompson Houston, featuring a walk-around tasting experience showcasing some of the city’s most exciting independent restaurants and culinary talent.

Hosted by TasteTwenty chefs and James Beard Award Winners Evelyn Garcia and Henry Lu of James Beard Award Semifinalist Jūn and Third Place, the event celebrates the chefs shaping the future of American dining.

Garcia and Lu were selected for the James Beard Foundation’s 2026-2027 TasteTwenty class, an annual list recognizing emerging culinary leaders whose cooking, creativity and community impact are helping define what’s next in the restaurant industry.

Now in its 14th year, Taste America highlights local food scenes across 20 U.S. cities, bringing diners closer to the chefs, traditions and innovations that shape American cuisine. Each event supports the James Beard Foundation’s mission to champion independent restaurants and create a more sustainable, equitable and thriving future for the food industry.
