“Be The Solution: Senior Citizens Town Hall” will empower Houston senior citizens with a dialogue about the issues that impact their neighborhoods and lives. The Town Hall event will provide seniors with a forum to let their voices be heard, get their questions answered about the issues impacting their neighborhoods, and empower them to “be the solution” in their communities.

The event will begin with light breakfast and a community resource fair to connect seniors to organizations that provide services and resources to seniors. Following the community resource fair, Council Member Amanda Edwards and Commissioner Rodney Ellis will lead a dialogue on a wide variety of topics ranging from Hurricane Harvey relief to post-Harvey neighborhood landscape planning.

The event happens on Thursday, November 16, 2017, starting at 10:00 a.m. with a Light Breakfast and Community Resource Fair. Followed at 10:30 a.m. by a Town Hall Discussion. Both events will occur at the Julia C. Hester House, 2020 Solo Street, Houston, TX 77020.
