Houston Texans Celebrate Founder's Day in Honor of Robert C. McNair

Today, the Houston Texans will celebrate Founder’s Day in honor of the team’s late founder Robert C. McNair. For the third consecutive year, the organization will honor Bob McNair’s life and legacy by supporting a cause he was passionate about. Texans players, coaches, executives and staff are partnering with Family Houston this month, a United Way agency which provides counseling to school-aged kids across the Greater Houston area.

Focused at the intersection of Business & Entertainment, Black Entrepreneurs Day presented by Chase has quickly become one of the largest and most awarded Diversity & Inclusion events in America. Last year's event attracted over 6.5 million viewers and won its third and fourth Webby Awards as the Best Remote Business & Finance event on the internet. This year's free global live-stream will air on Thursday, Oct. 27, beginning at 7 p.m. ET across the Black Entrepreneurs Day website, Facebook, and more.

The Grammy® Award-winning Houston Chamber Choir, led by Robert Simpson, is back at Miller Outdoor Theatre for the first time since 2019 presenting “This Land Is Your Land” as the second performance of its 2022-2023 season. HHSC Encourages Screenings During Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Aware- ness Month and the Texas Health and Human Services Commission is encouraging women to get screened regularly for the disease. “Breast cancer screenings can save a woman’s life and mammograms are the best way to detect breast cancer early, when it is easier to treat,” said Rob Ries, HHS deputy executive commissioner for Family Health Services. “As we bring awareness to this issue, we’re urging women to make time for their health and to get screened regularly.”
