Houston Deltas Celebrate 90 Years of Service

This year, the Houston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. commemorates 90 years of continuous community service.

This year, the Houston Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. commemorates 90 years of continuous community service.

The chapter will host "Through the Lens of HAC: Honoring the Past and Fostering the Future" on Sunday, April 23, 2017, from 3 to 6 p.m. at The Power Center, 12401 South Post Oak Road, in Houston.

The affair will honor Houston legends who have impacted and uplifted Houston Alumnae's nine decades of service from the chapter's inception in 1927 to the present.

Invited honorees include Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Windsor Village Church Senior Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell, Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church Founding Pastor Emeritus Rev. William A. Lawson, former Mayor Lee P. Brown, Houston NAACP President James Douglas, 21st International President of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated Faye B. Bryant, Houston City Council member Dwight Boykins, S.H.A.P.E Community Center visionary Deloyd Parker, Gospel music artist Kathy Taylor as well as entrepreneur, boxing champion and pastor George Foreman.

Please join us for the program, which includes an illustrated tour of the chapter's history and a panel discussion. Hors d'oeuvres and non-alcoholic beverages will be served.
