Bethune-Cookman University Welcomes Dr. Stephanie Pasley Henry as Acting Dean of the College of Education

Daytona Beach, FL.- B-CU welcomes BCC Alumna Dr. Stephanie Pasley Henry as Acting Dean of the College of Education. Dr. Henry is recognized as one of America’s most creative and dynamic educational entrepreneurs. An international educational consultant, she is regarded as a master teacher of cutting edge and best practice for K-12 classroom instruction. Dr. Henry is an Author, Publisher, and Motivational Speaker. She has provided thought-provoking and riveting in-service trainings to teachers and administrators with strategies aimed to engage and motivate students, teachers and parents.
Dr. Henry discovered her passion for education at Bethune-Cookman College where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. During her time at B-CU, she served as Miss Freshman, Miss Bethune-Cookman College and graduated Summa Cum Laude. Dr. Henry furthered her education and earned a Doctoral Degree in Curriculum Development and Systemic Change-- with a specialization in Youth and Child Studies, an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership, and a Master’s Degree in Exceptional Student Education from Nova Southeastern University.
With her desire for empowering and engaging students, teachers and parents, Dr. Henry taught Methods of Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers at Barry University. From 1997-2003, Dr. Henry served Broward County Public Schools through teaching, program development, trainings, and mathematical and phonics instruction. In 2004, Dr. Henry uniquely created an educational programmatic system which enables teachers to infuse music and movement with mathematics and reading instruction called The Math Party Programs. Her innovative programs include: Back to The Basics, State Test Prep, Fitness Addition, Fitness Subtraction, Multiplication, National Standards and The Reading Party, which is her latest concept.
Dr. Henry travels across the United States and Internationally training students, teachers, parents, administrators, and others to step outside of the box and teach to the rhythm of their students’ beat! Among her many scholarly efforts and achievements, Dr. Henry is a certified fitness instructor, a member of Greater Friendship Missionary Baptist Church and proudly serves with the Daytona Beach Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. She is a native of Deland, Florida and is the daughter of Henry Pasley and Patricia Sullivan. Dr. Henry is the wife of Derrick Henry, Mayor of Daytona Beach, and the mother of Derrick, Jr. and Paisley.
