PLAYA VISTA, CA--3.26. 18 -- As social media platforms are being asked to stem the tide of "fake news" proliferating online, YouTube's entertainment leader, BlackTree Media, today released a first look at its new millennial talk show, Elevated Daily.

The first-ever social justice and entertainment news show hosted by millennials and aimed squarely at younger viewers, the series blends "real" news with topical stories from television, film, fashion, music, sports and social media. The result is a groundbreaking millennial-focused news show tackling the issues that matter most to younger viewers.

Los Angeles based BlackTree Media opened a Washington D.C. Bureau to fully support the news aspect of the show and posted "live team coverage" of the youth led #MarchForOurLives on its social media pages. Coverage of the march may be found on the show's Instagram and Twitter (@ElevateMeDaily), with plans to recap the march on BlackTree's YouTube channel.

Elevated Daily is currently in production at the YouTube Space LA. Political analyst Roland S. Martin, Hip Hop icon MC Lyte, Black Lives Matters co-founder Melina Abdullah, retired LAPD sergeant Cheryl Dorsey and many more have already made guest appearances on the digital series, which began production on Feb. 16th.--the same day the Parkland students started #NeverAgain.

BlackTree Media, YouTube's #1 source for entertainment, with over 1.4 billion views, acquired Elevated Daily in deal to provide production services, advertising, and access to a fully monetized channel within its network.

"We are in a content acquisition phase, and Elevated Daily is perfectly timed," says Jamaal Finkley, chairman of BlackTree Media. "Millennials need their own news, run by people who speak their language, that delivers factual information."

The creator of the series, Darren D. Dickerson, says the plan is for the show to be "entirely managed" by millennials and will announce a millennial as executive producer of Elevated Daily by early April.

"YouTube is television for millennials, and it is the new destination for ad dollars, so joining BlackTree media was a no-brainer," says Dickerson. "Elevated Daily will offer the first real alternative to 'fake news' on social media!"
