Mobile, AL (WALA) -- The man accused of shooting his own daughter on Interstate 10 Sunday was in court this morning for a bond hearing.

Bond was set just short of $1.1 million for Robert Hooper, who is accused of shooting into a car while driving on I-10, wounding his own 9-year-old daughter.

Court documents and authorities allege Hooper rammed the car multiple times as well. His daughter is still recovering in the hospital.

The incident involved a seven-mile chase on the interstate, it was learned in court this morning.

Prosecutors say Hooper was chasing the child’s mother with her boyfriend in the car along with three children. The other children are ages 6 months and 2 years.

They say the suspect rammed the vehicle with his SUV and shot out a tire. Hooper then pulled up next to the car and fired multiple shots into it, prosecutors say.

Arraignment is set for Thursday.
