TEXAS -- Beto O'Rourke will participate in a Houston town hall hosted by MSNBC during the second week of early voting for the 2018 U.S. Senate election. The forum -- part of the Hardball College Tour -- will occur on Oct. 30 and will be 60 minutes in length.

University of Houston's Cullen Performance Hall

MSNBC's Chris Matthews will conduct a sit down one-on-one interview with O'Rourke in front of a live audience. University of Houston students will then have the opportunity to ask questions. Local media is welcome to attend.

The El Paso Congressman has held more than 340 town halls during his travels to each one of the 254 counties of Texas. O'Rourke recently held a week-long Fight For Our Future college and university tour that took him to more than a dozen campuses across the state. Earlier in the campaign, he held a town hall at the University of Houston. Next week's MSNBC forum follows dozens of early voting rallies in Harris, Fort Bend, Montgomery, Bexar, Travis, Williamson, Angelina, Gregg, Smith, Ellis, Tarrant, Dallas, Potter and Lubbock counties.

The town hall also follows O’Rourke’s announcement that his grassroots campaign raised more than $38 million in the third quarter of 2018. Powered by 802,836 individual contributions and without a dime from PACs, corporations or special interests, his people-powered campaign has just set a new record for the largest fundraising quarter ever in a U.S. Senate race. The Cook Political Report recently moved the Senate race's rating from "Lean Republican" to "Toss Up." Recent polling has also shown a single digit race that is regularly within the margin of error.
