Los Angeles, California, October 25, 2018 – On the heels of the merger of the Latina Global Executive Leadership Program and the Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Program (MWELP), Dr. Yasmin Davidds, the founder of both programs, is proud to announce $100,000 in available scholarships for qualified MWELP candidates who are self-funding.
“I’m grateful to our program partners who have assisted in making this generous scholarship fund accessible to candidates who would otherwise be unable to participate. This program was built to support women from a variety of backgrounds, and these scholarships ensure that eligible women, no matter their financial situation, rise together,” said Dr. Davidds.
Potential participants can choose from three programs, each inspired by the principles of Harvard University’s Authentic Leadership Program, that assist in defining a path of excellence in a variety of business settings.
The Multicultural Executive Leadership Program is a six-month intensive that enables and encourages the development of leadership skills in women who are currently in mid- to senior-level management.
The Multicultural Women Entrepreneur Program helps small business owners grow through six monthly sessions, and weekly group phone calls, that focus on the skills participants need to get to the next level.
The Multicultural Women: Emerging Leaders Program is a six-month agenda that focuses on the development of young professional leaders aged 25 to 34. The program emphasizes the importance of mentorship, and provides that opportunity to all participants.
Phreda Devereux, MBA/MSIA, is the Director and Head of Investment Banking Compliance at MUFG Union Bank. She is also a MWELP 2018 graduate. Devereux shared her thoughts about the program :
“I sing praises for the Multicultural Women Executive Leadership Program. Using MWELP strategies, I am preparing myself for impactful management roles within my community and Company – that is, roles that require me to lead confidently and effectively, to analyze business situations critically, and to articulate visions and decisions strategically. Just as importantly, I feel that I have developed friendships with powerful and driven business people, including MWELP students, MWELP faculty, and guest MWELP lecturers. MWELP has been a catalyst for new and important directions in my career.”
Qualified candidates are encouraged to apply as soon as possible, as the deadline for the 2019 session is fast approaching. All spots in the program are expected to be filled by November 20th.
