There was a "Ripple" of birthday love for Jerry Garcia across social media this week. August 1 would have been the 77th birthday of the Grateful Dead frontman who died after suffering a heart attack in 1995.

(CNN) -- There was a "Ripple" of birthday love for Jerry Garcia across social media Thursday.
August 1 would have been the 77th birthday of the Grateful Dead frontman who died after suffering a heart attack in 1995.
Twitter made sure he wasn't forgotten.
"Happy Birthday to Jerry Garcia!," one tweet read. "We're forever grateful for you, for your music and for the kind community that still exists because of you."
A few birthday celebrations were also planned to honor him around the country including Jerry Day 2019 at Jerry Garcia Amphitheater McLaren Park in San Francisco.
