Tamar Braxton has made reality show history, becoming the first African-American to win the CBS series Celebrity Big Brother. Braxton, along with Dina Lohan, Ricky Williams, Lolo Jones, and Kandi Burruss, headed into Wednesday night’s Season Two finale competing for the grand prize of $250,000. After a series of challenges, Burruss, Lohan, and Jones got the boot, leaving the “My Man” singer and NFL baller Williams. Host Julie Chen presented the songstress with the final house key after she received an unanimous 9-0 vote in her favor. In addition to being the show’s first Black winner, Braxton also broke the rumored “first to enter” curse, “a theory that the first person to enter the Big Brother house never wins,” reports PEOPLE. Braxton took home the $250K prize, and runner-up Williams walked away with $50K. The road to victory wasn’t easy for the songstress.
