Houston Grand Opera presents In War & Peace—Harmony through Music, a special concert event featuring international opera star and former HGO Studio alumna and mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato, followed by a post-concert dinner. DiDonato’s award-winning In War & Peace—Harmony through Music makes a one-night-only stop at the Wortham Center on Wednesday, Nov. 6, while on its international tour. In the aftermath of the 2015 Paris attacks, DiDonato began work on a project that she hoped would take listeners on a journey from despair to hope, and in doing so remind them of the best of humanity. In War & Peace—Harmony Through Music is a concert presented in two parts, first war, then peace, and asks of the audience, “In the midst of chaos, how do you find peace?”
DiDonato, who has performed major roles in the most revered opera companies of the world, will be joined by the noted ensemble Il pomo d’oro, under the baton of Maxim Emelyanychev.
On Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 7 p.m. at Wortham Theater Center, 501 Texas Ave. Concert in the Cullen Theater; Post-concert dinner with Joyce DiDonato in the Brown Theater
