Rendezvous Date is a new dating service with the goal of bringing matches together in-person sooner than later.* (Since the outbreak of Covid-19, Rendezvous is installing a video service w/in the App that is going live soon.) Rendezvous is for singles who are serious about a relationship and fed up with ghosting, catfishing and penpals. Founder Jason Paul created Rendezvous after one to many frustrating online dating experiences and incorporated features into his app he wished he’d seen in others. What sets Rendezvous apart?
Limited texting - by limiting in app texting to just 200 characters, matches are encouraged to skip the small talk and plan a rendezvous to get to know your potential partner better IRL. Tone can be misinterpreted in text, especially when chatting with a stranger. It can end a relationship before it even gets the chance at a first date. Rendezvous removes the opportunity for a penpal.
Rate Your Date- were not talking about subjective opinions about looks, style or profession. The truth is people are unreliable, unresponsive and unpredictable. The rating features are intended to varifty users are in fact real people and hold them accountable for their actions. No more ghosting last minute or catfishing.
Suggest meetup locations in the app - With limited characters for texting, Rendezvous helps you pick a date spot so you don’t have to waste characters or provide information about location you might not want to. If you’re ready to meet your match, suggest a spot using the in-app map. Your match can either accept or request to keep chatting.
Rendezvous launched in September, 2019 and has over 3000 users nationwide with thousands joining every month. It is free with a premium option set to release later this year. In response to Covid-19, Rendezvous has integrated a video chat feature and removed texting limitations. Once social distancing restrictions are lifted, Rendezvous plans to roll out new app features like a “Friday Night Vibe” connecting singles in a certain radius together to plan a Friday rendezvous and host regular speed dating events. The goal is to make it simple and fun for serious singles to meet up, put the phone away and get to know each other through conversation.
