The Home Buyers ‘Roadtrip’ To Buying Your Home

Welcome back to The Open House. Oftentimes I get questioned about the home buying process.

Is it long? Is it difficult? Should I wait? Well, this week, I will break down the actual home buying process for you. You’re invited to the Home Buyers Road Trip, so sit back, relax and enjoy the ride!

The first stop on our road trip is to find an agent. You need a skilled professional that you trust and you’re comfortable working with guiding you through the process.

The next stop is the financials. Determine what you can afford by getting your credit checked and getting pre-approved for a loan.

Next, the search begins! Start looking online and touring different homes until you find the perfect home for you.

Once you find the perfect home, put in an initial offer! Make sure to submit a strong offer so you can stand out to the seller. Congrats - your offer was accepted! Now set up an inspection and appraisal to be done on the home.

Once those are done, talk with your realtor on how and what you can negotiate with the seller. Remember, everything is negotiable until the day you sign the papers!

It’s almost time! Call the movers and schedule your move. The last stop is a celebration.

Attend the closing meeting, sign the papers and get your keys! You’re a homeowner - woohoo!
