Brunching with a Purpose is taking on a new meaning as the United Methodist Strengthening the Black Church for the 21st Century (SBC21) announce a Health, Wellness and Medicare Education Tour designed to inspire community members to BUILD A BETTER YOU! The tour will make a stop in Houston at Trinity East Church in 3rd Ward, 2418 McGowen Street, Saturday, September 17 from 11 am-1pm. Register Here @ https://shorturl.at/eknuY

Organizers are excited to welcome National Transformational Speaker and Influencer, Rev. Telley Lynnette Gadson, of South Carolina Annual Conference who will share how COVID forced her to live - losing nearly 200 pounds and surviving depression and altering priorities in her life. Gadson says God was preparing and leading her into healing and wholeness. “What good is it to shout on Sunday and be sick every other day of the week? It is imperative that health and wellness be a high priority as all the other areas of our lives where we want to live our best lives as we are becoming our best selves, said Gadson.

The FREE BRUNCH EXPERIENCE is targeting brothers and sisters with an OLD SCHOOL DAY PARTY, exciting activities and giveaways all to fulfill its’ mission to equip, educate and encourage African Americans to BUILD A BETTER YOU.

“We are creating an experience for leaders and community members to make a commitment to themselves, said Rev. Dr. Michael L. Bowie, Jr., the National Executive Director of SBC21. “I know personally that healthy leaders are more likely to inspire healthy congregations and communities and I also know that Black people are more likely not to prioritize our own health and wellness and much of that has to do with not being health literate. “I am so grateful that God has aligned this mission with the work being done at IMPACT Church to ensure that our community and leaders are equipped with information to live healthier lives,” he said.

The SBC21 Build A Better You Tour is proud to partner with UnitedHealthcare, local Pastors and leaders in each city who are active in the mission of vital ministry to build lives and strengthen communities. Each transformative event will feature live DJ, swag and give-a-ways, incredible networking and other special guest to inspire exercise and eating well tips.
