Universal Technical Institute Houston and MIAT College of Technology to Host High School Educators Workshop Friday, Jan. 27
Campus leaders to highlight electric vehicle programs and lead campus tours

Universal Technical Institute (UTI) Houston and MIAT College of Technology invite media to attend some or all of this multi-campus event geared toward high school educators and counselors. These two state-of-the-art career educational institutions feature 276,400 square feet of training space for core programs, which include the automotive, diesel, welding, collision repair, aviation, energy, HVACR, robotics and automation, and non-destructive testing technology programs. UTI Houston Campus President Darrin Brust and MIAT Campus Director Titus Hubbard are hosting this special event.
UTI and MIAT will host the in-person High School Educators Workshop on Friday, Jan. 27 from 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. CT. This event is designed to give attendees an opportunity to learn more about both campus’ electric vehicle programs, TRIP (Tuition Reimbursement Incentive Programs), scholarship opportunities, MegaTech training and safety programs, the demand for skilled trade workers, meet with campus leaders and instructors, participate in live demos, and tour the campuses and an industry partner facility – Sewell Meredes-Benz of West Housotn located at 1012 Hwy 6 North. Participants will learn more about career and scholarship opportunities.
UTI and MIAT guests will experience the following:
-Overview of electric vehicle programs
-TRIP (Tuition Reimbursement Incentive Programs), Scholarships, and financial aid options.
-Visits to hands-on training labs
-Conversations with UTI faculty and staff who are committed to student success
-Campus and industry partner tours
-Learn why leading companies such as BMW, Sewell, Peterbilt, United Airlines, Siemens, Spirit Airlines, and Boeing have ongoing, mutually beneficial relationships with UTI and MIAT.

With 73,300 automotive[1], 28,500 diesel[2] and 47,600 welding[3] industry projected job openings annually through 2031, now is the time to introduce students to the educational experience UTI can provide, and training programs that can be completed in as little as 36 weeks. UTI’s High School Educators Workshop will enable high school administrators and counselors to learn about electic vehicle programs, scholarship opportunities and tuition reimbursement programs available to students.
