The Almeda Emancipation Corridor Alliance (T.A.E.C.A.) will kick off their first-ever Juneteenth Celebration this Thursday, June 15, 2023, with some notable names at an inaugural “Celebrity June Tee Off Golf Tournament” to benefit inner-city students, at the prestigious Wildcat Golf Club (12000 Almeda Road) in Houston, Texas!

The Celebrity June Tee Off Golf Tournament will be hosted by Houston native and 11-year NFL veteran defensive lineman Michael Brockers (St. Louis/LA Rams, Detroit Lions), Houston Oilers John Henry Mills, and Houston rap legend Scarface! The event promises to be a remarkable day of golf for a great cause, providing attendees with the exclusive opportunity to mix and mingle with some of their favorite artists, athletes, and influential personalities, while making a difference in the lives of inner-city students in Houston!

Several professional athletes will also be among the tournament’s celebrity guests including the NFL’s Michael Holmes (San Francisco 49ers), Jason Phillips (Detroit Lions/Atlanta Falcons), Emanuel McNeil (New York Jets), Ira Matthews (Las Vegas Raiders), James Ihedigbo (New York Jets/ Detroit Lions/New England Patriots), Glover Quin (Detroit Lions), Derrick Williams (Detroit Lions), Haywood Jeffires (Houston Oilers), and Chris Calloway (New York Giants), along with legendary Houston Sportscaster Butch Alsandor, to name a few!

Registration for the Celebrity June Tee Off Golf Tournament begins at 7:00am with a shotgun start at 8:30am. Participants will be treated to a delightful breakfast, lunch, cocktail reception, 18 holes of golf, an awards ceremony, a silent auction, and much more!

The event marks the beginning of an extraordinary weekend of festivities organized by the Almeda Emancipation Corridor Alliance from June 15-19, 2023. Proceeds from the T.A.E.C.A. Celebrity Golf Tournament will support students and athletic programs at inner-city schools in Houston. By supporting the inaugural tournament, sponsors and participants alike contribute to the empowerment and educational development of young individuals in Houston areas like the Third Ward!
