Fort Bend County Holds Summer Safety Press Conference as Temperatures Expected to Hit All-Time High

Fort Bend County Judge KP George along with county officials from the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office, Department of Health and Human Services, Emergency Medical Services, Animal Services, the Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, and community partners will host a summer safety press conference on Tuesday, June 27 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fort Bend County Office of Emergency Management located at 307 Fort St., Richmond, TX 77469.
The main focus of the press conference is to provide guidance, precautions, and measures for residents to stay safe and prevent heat-related illnesses during the current high temperatures and expected record-high heat index on Wednesday. Additionally, information will be shared on pet safety, pool and swimming safety, cooling center locations, and general safety tips for the summer season.
“While many of us are now getting out to enjoy the sunshine, the heat can be dangerous, especially for our children, older residents, and also our pets,” said Fort Bend County Judge KP George. “It is important that we let our residents know what safety precautions to take as the temperatures continue to rise.”
