HISD Launches Project Safe Start 2023 to promote end-of-year school safety

The Houston Independent School District Police Department, Houston Police Department, and community ministers will culminate the end of the school year by once again engaging in Project Safe Start. The partnership involves increasing security presence on and around school campuses as they start to wind down during the final days of the academic year, with the aim of ensuring a safe and secure learning environment for students and teachers.

During the event, attendees will have the opportunity to take a campus walkthrough and learn more about the association and the measures being taken to enhance security on HISD school campuses as we close out the school year.

Those expected to attend HISD Police Department Chief, Pedro Lopez, Assistant Chief Houston Police Department, Yasar Bashir, and community ministers.

The event is on Wednesday, May 24 at Sam Houston High, 9400 Irvington Blvd, 77076
