Fresh Arts, a local nonprofit that empowers local artists through its resources, skill-building programs and community connections, is excited to announce October as Arts District Month. Throughout October, Houstonians are encouraged to explore a variety of arts and culture offerings in the Arts District.
“Arts District Houston is a nationally-recognized creative neighborhood that features the largest concentration of working artists in the state of Texas,” said Angela Carranza, Executive Director of Fresh Arts. “We are inviting all Houstonians to experience firsthand what makes our Arts District so unique.”
Located in the historic First and Sixth Wards, Arts District Month is the perfect opportunity to experience local art, meet artists living and working there and support small businesses. The District is home to 60+ outdoor murals; 450+ studios for local artists and makers; charming historic homes; and the popular Spring Street Hike & Bike Trail.
