This year marks the third consecutive collaboration between Five Below, a popular value retailer known for its trendy and affordable products, and KINF, a national nonprofit dedicated to providing resources to some of the country's most under-resourced schools. More than 2,000 deserving teachers will receive reusable tote bags filled with classroom essentials, including writing and drawing supplies, self-care journals, and fun snacks, all courtesy of Five Below. These supplies not only aid in classroom activities but also enhance the well-being and creativity of both teachers and students.
Five Below's involvement goes beyond simple donations. The company, founded in 2002 and headquartered in Philadelphia, operates over 1,600 stores across 43 states, offering a dynamic assortment of products priced between $1 and $5. Known for its commitment to an "amazing experience filled with unlimited possibilities," Five Below believes in the power of letting go and having fun, a philosophy that translates into their support for educational initiatives.
The Kids In Need Foundation continues to be a pivotal player in educational equity, reaching over 7.8 million students and supporting 316,900 teachers in 2021 alone. With a network that includes more than 40 organizations nationwide, KINF has distributed over $162 million in free supplies and resources to under-resourced schools, ensuring that every child in America has the opportunity to succeed in a well-equipped learning environment.
This year's "Thanks A Million" event is more than just a giveaway; it's a celebration of educators' hard work and a recognition of their pivotal role in shaping future generations. As teachers across Houston prepare to receive their well-deserved gifts, the community is invited to acknowledge and appreciate the significant impact these educators have on young lives.
