In a momentous achievement, Harris County Clerk Teneshia Hudspeth has ascended to the role of President of the International Association of Government Officials (iGO). The announcement was made official during iGO's 2024 Annual Conference, which took place in New Orleans from July 19-24, 2024.
Reflecting on her new role, Hudspeth expressed her deep commitment to advancing the organization's mission. "I am honored to serve as the new iGO president and am committed to the association’s vision of fostering excellence in public service," Hudspeth stated. "I look forward to leading iGO and working with my peers to develop strategies to help government officials now and in the future."
iGO, a pivotal organization for government officials, aims to enhance professional training and leadership development. It fosters networking, encourages technological innovation, and promotes educational programs while vigilantly monitoring legislative developments at the national level that impact county recorders, election officials, treasurers, and clerks.
The organization's legacy dates back to 2016, following the merger of two prominent entities—the National Association of County Recorders, Election Officials, and Clerks (NACRC) and the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials, and Treasurers (IACREOT). This merger established iGO as a leading force in supporting government officials across the nation.
Clerk Hudspeth, who previously served as iGO's Vice President and Secretary, will continue to guide the organization until July 2025. Her leadership is expected to steer iGO toward new heights, benefiting government officials and the public they serve.
