Alief ISD has introduced the Literacy MENtors program, a new initiative designed to inspire and engage third-grade students in reading. The program pairs students with caring male volunteers who will serve as mentors, guiding them in their literacy journey and helping to cultivate a lifelong love for reading. By committing just one hour a month, these mentors will provide invaluable support, encouraging students to explore new stories and ideas. This program is part of Alief ISD's broader commitment to academic excellence and community involvement, aiming to empower the next generation with the skills they need for success. Those interested in making a difference can sign up today at www.AliefISD.net.

Thirteen Bondy Intermediate students had an unforgettable experience this week, training at Watt's House Youth Camp with JJ and Kealia Watt. The athletes spent the day on the Dobie High School football field, participating in drills and games with the sports legends.

As a surprise, JJ Watt gifted each student a $1,000 shopping spree at Dick's House of Sport, where they shopped for new clothes, shoes, and sports gear alongside Watt himself. Pasadena ISD and Bondy Intermediate extend their heartfelt thanks to the JJ Watt Foundation for their ongoing support and to Dick's House of Sport for their generosity.
