North Houston Skate Park Hosts Inclusive Skateboarding Event for Individuals with Disabilities

The North Houston Skate Park will host a special event on Saturday, December 15, 2024, offering individuals aged 5 and older with physical or cognitive disabilities the chance to experience the joy of skateboarding.
Organized by Ability Skateboarding and Action Sports, the free event runs from noon to 2:00 PM and is designed to teach participants the FUNdamentals of skateboarding. Volunteers will be on-site to support participants, ensuring a safe and engaging experience for all.
Equipment, including helmets, skateboards, wheelchairs, and adaptive skateboards, will be provided by the organizers. The event welcomes individuals of all abilities, including but not limited to those with Autism, Down Syndrome, Spina Bifida, Cerebral Palsy, visual impairments, amputations, spinal injuries, or intellectual disabilities.
North Houston Skate Park, a premier 10-acre competition-scale facility, features an array of bowls, pipes, ramps, and street-skating obstacles, making it the perfect venue for this inclusive event.
