Fort Bend ISD
Over the weekend, the National Honor Society at Dulles High School in Fort Bend ISD hosted a math and science competition for elementary and middle school students, featuring participants from various Fort Bend ISD schools. Congratulations to the students from Cornerstone Elementary and Colony Bend Elementary for clinching 1st and 2nd place, respectively.
HISD
Congratulations to Dr. Maqsuda Afroz from César E. Chavez High School in the Houston Independent School District (HISD) as a finalist for the Houston Region Teacher award. Each finalist in the teacher category for the HEB Excellence in Education award will receive a $1,000 check for themselves and a $1,000 check for their school.
Spring Branch ISD
A Memorial High School sophomore, Vilius Bagdzevicius, is one of only 28 students nationwide selected to attend the Commander Naval Air Force (CNAF) Flight Academy this summer. This prestigious opportunity, funded by the U.S. Navy for Naval Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (NJROTC) Cadets, provides private pilot training at select host universities. Valued at $26,000, Vilius's acceptance underscores his exceptional achievement and ambition.
