Home Slice Pizza, the iconic Austin pizzeria renowned for its authentic New York-style pies, is embracing the future of pizza with the introduction of a delectable vegan cheese option. Starting July 1, pizza enthusiasts can savor the creamy goodness of vegan mozzarella atop their favorite pies at all four Home Slice locations in Austin and Houston.
Crafted with care by Selfish Cow, the plant-based division of Cheese Merchants, this innovative dairy-free cheese promises a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Composed of a proprietary blend including coconut oil, potato starch, tapioca starch, sunflower oil, and chickpea protein, it mirrors the taste and texture of traditional mozzarella, making it a fitting choice for dairy-free and vegan diets alike.
"This is the vegan cheese we've been dreaming of," declares Jen Strickland, co-founder of Home Slice Pizza. "After years of searching for a non-dairy alternative that meets our standards, we're thrilled to finally bring this option to our menu.
