Scheduled for Saturday, June 15, from 9 a.m. to noon at Bayland Park (6400 Bissonnet Street), the "Meet the Heroes of Hurricane Preparedness" event promises an educational and entertaining experience for families.

This community-focused event will provide children with a rare opportunity to interact with first responders and the Precinct 4 Road and Bridge crews who play crucial roles during weather emergencies. Young attendees will have the chance to explore emergency vehicles up close, including a fire truck, police car, hazmat vehicle, and Harris County Precinct 4’s excavator and high-water rescue vehicles.

In addition to the hands-on experiences, representatives from several key organizations will be on hand to share valuable tips and information on hurricane safety and preparedness. Participating organizations include the Harris County Office of Emergency Management, Texas General Land Office, Harris County Fire Marshal’s Office, and Harris County Public Health.
