For many, Napa Valley Wine Country is a bucket list destination for those wanting an enchanting backdrop for unforgettable memories and unparalleled experiences. Recently, the region has expanded its offerings to appeal to a more diverse audience, making it accessible for those unsure of how to navigate Napa without breaking the bank.

Luckily, I recently explored the wine region and have crafted alternatives for experiencing Napa in three, two, or even just one day. Let’s dive in and discover how to make the most of your time in Napa, while also saving some coins!

Three Days in Napa Valley

Day One: Riverside Luxury at River Terrace Inn

Begin your journey by ditching the car rental and opting for a rideshare from San Francisco or Sacramento to the River Terrace Inn. Nestled along the picturesque Napa River, this gem offers well-appointed guest rooms and convenient proximity to the Napa Valley train station.

Upon arrival, the River Terrace Inn welcomes you with open arms to spacious guest rooms designed to cater to your every need. For the ladies - you'll discover a full makeup and hair preparation space, complete with a wall-mounted, magnifying mirror for flawless styling. But that's not all – the pièce de résistance awaits in the bathroom, where a large wi-fi mirror allows you to stream your favorite tunes while getting ready for the day's adventures! (this was a real plus for me.)

After settling into your comfy accommodations, take a leisurely stroll to Oxbow Marketplace for lunch.  Oxbow is conveniently located just a stone's throw away from the hotel. This haven, for foodies like me who can never decide on one food option, offers a diverse array of eateries and boutique shops that cater to every palate.

Prepare to be tantalized by the irresistible aromas wafting from various culinary stalls! From freshly prepared sushi and savory empanadas to artisanal pizzas and decadent cupcakes, there's something to satisfy every craving.

But Oxbow Marketplace is more than just a feast for the taste buds; it's a vibrant hub of local flavors and artisanal craftsmanship. Explore charming shops offering handcrafted goods, artisanal cheeses, and gourmet chocolates, each telling a story of Napa's rich culinary heritage.

And let's not forget about the libations – Oxbow Marketplace boasts a curated selection of beers and wines, inviting you to indulge in discovering a new local gem. Whether you're seeking a quick bite, a unique souvenir, or simply a place to unwind and soak in the lively atmosphere, Oxbow Marketplace promises an affordable culinary experience in the heart of Napa Valley.

After returning to your hotel to freshen up for the evening’s wine tasting festivities, make sure not to miss a visit to Vintner's Collective—it's an absolute essential! While a casual tasting option is available without reservations, I highly recommend indulging in the #2 experience for an exclusive tasting tailored to your preferences.

Nestle into the venue's upstairs area, where the ambiance is steeped in the rich history of a former brothel, adding a unique layer of intrigue to your tasting experience. This intimate setting is perfect for small groups, allowing for personalized attention and a deeper exploration of the wines on offer.

And here's a little insider tidbit: You'll find it hard to resist bringing home more than a few bottles of wine after your tasting. Luckily, Vintner's Collective offers convenient shipping straight to your doorstep, ensuring that your favorite finds from the tasting room can accompany you on your wine journey even after you've left Napa Valley.
