The Fort Bend County Sheriff's Office (FBCSO) is actively investigating a homicide that occurred in the 6500 block of Snowbell Court.

On Monday, May 27, 2024, at 12:01 PM, deputies were dispatched to a welfare check call at the Snowbell Court residence. Upon arrival, they found 37-year-old Laura Smith deceased inside the home.

The Fort Bend County Medical Examiner's Office conducted an autopsy and determined the cause of death to be homicide. The investigation is ongoing.

Family members initially called in the welfare check. Mrs. Smith had sustained traumatic injuries leading to her death. While authorities believe this is an isolated incident, no suspects have been identified at this time.
