This summer, break free from routine and explore the endless possibilities at Children’s Museum Houston’s “Summer Escape,” sponsored by Champion Energy. From June 1 to August 17, 2024, enjoy two new exhibits, a daily musical, and 18 exciting events!
Daily Highlights:
S.E.C.R.E.T.: The AI Generated Musical!
June 13 - August 4
Join the interactive musical where agents and a singing AI, ROGUE, bring adventure to life. Performances are 20 minutes, perfect for all ages.
June Special Events:
- Think Pink (June 1):Dive into Barbie-inspired activities, meet real-life Barbies, and design your dreamhouse.
- Sweet Like Candy (June 6): Enjoy Willy Wonka-themed fun, candy workshops, and performances by Oompa Loompas.
- Defy Gravity (June 10): Marvel at bubble shows, aerial performances, and rocket workshops.
- Juneteenth Celebration Part 1 (June 16) & Part 2 (June 19): Celebrate with art exhibitions, DJ sessions, theater performances, and mural painting.
- Need for Speed (June 22): Meet Sonic, view art cars, and enjoy ramp-building workshops.
- Lula the Mighty Griot (June 23): Enjoy a captivating opera about Lula and her adventures.
- Ohana Means Family (June 29): Join Stitch for a meet and greet, dance classes, and painting workshops.
July Special Events:
- Kidpendence Day (July 4): Celebrate with Mentos geysers, confetti, and Captain America story time.
- Out-of-this-World (July 6): Experience Star Wars with the 501st Legion and lightsaber combat.
- Tanabata Japanese Star Festival (July 7): Enjoy traditional Japanese activities and storytelling.
- Play It Cool (July 13): Sing along with Frozen characters and watch live ice sculpting.
- Dog Days of Summer (July 20): Meet Bluey and Bingo, craft stuffed animals, and play games.
- National Ice Cream Day Celebration (July 21): Create DIY ice cream and enjoy a bilingual opera.
- Knight and Day (July 27): Dive into medieval fun with live music, crafting, and Dungeons & Dragons.
August Special Events:
- Royal Revelry (August 3): Meet Disney princesses, enjoy Renaissance music, and join D&D sessions.
- Minion Mania (August 10): Meet Minion-inspired characters and enjoy hero vs. villain games.
- Villains’ Vengeance (August 17): Meet animated villains and engage in party streamer battles.
New Exhibits:
- Game Quest: A life-size board game adventure sponsored by Oxy and The William Stamps Farish Fund.
- The Picturebook Art of Loren Long: Explore over 40 illustrations by Loren Long, sponsored by CFP Foundation.
